About Donnell

Hi,

My name is Donnell, and I would like to take this moment to tell you a little bit about myself and the method in which I teach.

I've been teaching and training for more then ten years.

1. I completed my education after serving the military 4 year tour with a honorable discharge

2. I worked my way through school and raised a beautiful daughter who by the way received and "A" in College Algebra after her first semester.

3. As an Engineer, I worked with many different people and trained new employees using my math and mechanical skills on various projects.

4. As a teacher my teaching style is hands-on. "I make sure the student can become the teacher."

5. I have had students to go on in various careers in accounting, math, entertainment, business etc.

6. What I get out of teaching is when I see students graduate from grade school, alternative school, high school, GED, and college.

Are you ready, then let's get started?

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. Career Development

Thank you, for this opportunity to speak with you concerning possible employment.
I have worked in the private sector and the public sector for over ten years in various capacities as Educator and Trainer.
As an Adult Educational Instructor my responsibilities were teaching General Education subjects in areas of Math, English, and Writing. At Florida State College of Jacksonville as part of a team initiative as a consultant my expertise in business management supported the Colleges’ consortium initiative. The initiative pushed forward a cooperative spirit of various institutions sponsoring corporate wide training within defined regions of Florida and other parts of the Country. The training was established to improve employee productivity and student employability. This initiative was followed up with various Human Resource personnel at several businesses throughout Jacksonville, Fl.
As Engineer, Curriculum Chair and Educator I have taken a continual supporting active role as team leadership with proper lab procedures and of new curriculum improvements.
At Advance Career Training for business, nursing and medical records, gave me the opportunity to work with corporate, vendors and other curriculum team members across the Country to bring a quality educational product in curriculum revisions to our state. The curriculum revisions were accomplished over a year of conference calls, exchanging of ideas and applied course expertise that included a time line with milestones of completion. Revisions brought about a change in the individual teaching approach to a more standardized teaching pathology. The new curriculum introduced student and teacher with an interactive project-computer based curriculum. Some of the tools to accomplish this standardized change as part of my job was to completely issue new up to date books, and the introduction of new interactive computer software, instructional training of staff and student, updated course syllabus that included a day to day course breakdown of module lesson plans each plan that included Lab procedures, Marketing, Accounting, and various Business subjects, Computer concepts and Microsoft Office Suites (i.e. Widows XP, Outlook 2007, - Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point) that were located in series of hardback manuals backed up with a companywide shared services network. All instructors were equipped (Epson Brightlink450 etc.) with the latest training on new equipment to facilitate lectures on power point or from the new manuals for each instructional model.
As a final measure of success in 2009, our student retention rate increased from a companywide average of 81% to 100%.
