I’m Carrie. I graduated from William Woods University with my Specialist in Education. I always enjoyed the teachers/professors who have made the classes enjoyable. I’m Carrie. I graduated from William Woods University with my Specialist in Education. I always enjoyed the teachers/professors who have made the classes enjoyable. They were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom. I use lesson plans which introduce the topic in a creative and fun way. I have always made sure afterwards I ensure time for students to practice the material on their own. This can be adjusted based on the subject and each student’s individual needs. Three years ago, our district began to pilot Classroom Active Learning Labs (ALL) at Our Elementary School in grades K-5. Learning skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication to create a similar instructional model. Learning Labs allow for high levels of STEM integration and student engagement. Lessons have a clear, focused and purposeful instructional design, and learning experiences are enhanced by access to technology. In Active Learning Labs, students strengthen their skills in analysis, synthesis and evaluation; learn to think about tasks and problems from a variety of viewpoints; work together as a team to accomplish a task; and use accountable discussions to build respectful discourse, connect prior learning and empower rigorous thinking.
The ultimate goal of learning is that students are able to independently apply information, ideas, content, skills and strategies in new and different situations. This process helps students take ownership of their learning while allowing teachers to move from teaching facts to teaching thinking.

I have taught 6th grade for three years, 1st grade for three years and Special Education 2-5.

Really Great Reading believes that every student has the right to appropriate, high-quality, foundational-skills reading instruction. We are focused on preventing and remediating decoding weaknesses in students in all grades (and even adults). We provide educators with the tools and knowledge to teach all students (not just those who learn easily) to read. We make assessment and grouping practical, efficient, and accurate. Our approach to reading instruction is research-based, interactive, explicit, structured, and multisensory. In our lessons, students not only learn to read, but enjoy the intelligent and age appropriate learning process

Spelling matters. If you want to create a good impression in your writing and make sure you get your meaning across clearly, it’s important to get your spelling right.Really Great Reading online teaching tool subscriptions have helped me and other teachers illustrate concepts, model student practice, and move through the lessons with efficiency and fidelity. These web based companions to the teacher lesson plans can be used with interactive whiteboards, LCD projectors, laptops, tablets, or stand-alone computers. We offer six web based, online, virtual teaching tools: Countdown, Blast, HD Word, Boost, Blitz and Letter Tiles Online.

I love having the ability to develop relationships with their students. Being patient, caring, and a kind personality, knowledge of learners, dedication to teaching and Engaging students in learning.
