I have been working with computers, and programming them, since 1978. I received an Associates Degree in Computer Science from Austin Community College, Austin, TX, in December of 1979, receiving a 3.556 GPA for 90 hours of credits.
As far as my hobbies go, my main hobby is playing the guitar. I have played the guitar for over 50 years, and have tutored several people, including my niece and her husband, who are now performing in Cedar Park, TX. I also played in a Jazz band, as well as the marching band, in high school in Leander, TX. I have tutored people in the use of MuseScore (a scorewriter for Windows, OS X, and Linux, comparable to Finale and Sibelius, supporting a wide variety of file formats and input methods) in Springfield, MO. MuseScore is a program that is released as free and open-source software under the GNU General Public License.
I am interesting in tutoring in computer programming, to offer any assistance in helping someone better understand and appreciate programming in it's various formats. I also enjoy playing the guitar, as a way to relax, and would enjoy teaching anyone that is interested in a method called pick-strumming, which combines both picking and strumming a guitar simultaneously. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have used CSS in several web sites that I have created and/or maintained. I have studied CSS for several years, and use TopStyle Lite to generate CSS code.
I have produced newsletters for Unity Spiritual Center in Springfield, MO. I have extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, Open Office suite, and LibreOffice suite. I have tutored people on the use of these programs.
I have designed graphics buttons and logos for several web sites. I am very familiar with the GIMP editor (Open Source program similar to PhotoShop). I also use programs to generate navigation buttons and/or CSS buttons for websites.

I have worked with UNIX since 1985. I wrote many shell scripts for AT&T while I was working with them. While working with AT&T, they sent me to several schools for UNIX.
