My experience tutoring started when I was in high school, I would help tutor older students in subjects that I already understood. I’ve take advanced classes all through high school and was able to graduate with a 4.0 GPA and receive an all academic full-ride scholarship to college with 15 credit hours of college credit. I studied in the medical profession for a while until I decided to pursue business as I began to fall in love with finance. I’m currently a Security Engineer who loves learning new things and constantly seeking for ways to grow.
Over the summer I recently got the opportunity to tutor a family friend of mine who was going into the 6th grade and he had difficulty understanding the concepts in math that he was taught the previous school year. After spending the summer with him he has told me multiple times during our sessions that the way I taught him adapted to his learning style, and made his learning easier to understand. He never felt I rushed him, or made him think the way I do, but used his understanding and processes to make sure he understood how to reach then correct answer using sustainable methods not just memory. I constantly am looking for ways to learn and grow and teaching is just one of those things that come so easily to me. I’d love the opportunity to impact students and help them, too, understand what used to seem impossible.
I have taken advanced level math up to (Calculus 2) and passed with a 98% or higher in all math/finance classes I’ve ever taken. I recently tutored a family friend going into the 6th grade and he knew more going into 6th grade than the rest of his peers. I have experience tutoring all age groups when I was in grade school and even in college, successfully and always to their level of understanding so they learn habits that will help them even when I’m not there, and after that relationship has passed.
