Aspen University (Graduate Coursework)
I am a career engineering professional with over 30 years of hands-on engineering experience. I graduated cum lauded from Kansas State University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have expertise tutoring Algebra, Physics, Basic electrical theory, thermodynamics, and other engineering topics. I will work with each individual student to tailor their program to achieve their goals.
I have tutored many students in math and science who struggled with learning these topics in a classroom. What I love about tutoring is seeing students eyes light up when a topic they have been really struggling with suddenly clicks! It is like a big weight has been lifted off their shoulders and they are so happy and relieved. I am really looking forward to working with you!
I focus on the keys to successfully solving math problems rather than just memorizing the formulas. Following this approach will greatly improve understanding, scores, and ability to apply concepts to new situations. For example, importance of writing down the known and unknown variables, defining the question, and how to disregard useless information. Many students struggle with word problems. I love these!
My focus is on physically visualizing science principles such that a deep understanding is achieved rather than sheer memorization. I have found that when understanding of the underlying principles has been achieved students can successfully apply this to problems that don't meet the typical mold. Again, I love solving word problems, and teaching students how to approach them.
If you are ready to end your frustration and constant struggle with these topics, and start enjoying success with solving tough math and science challenges, give me a call! Soon you will be the rock star of your study group, teaching them how to be successful! I am a career engineering professional with over 30 years of hands-on engineering experience. I needed to go from almost a beginning level of Excel to very advanced level for a upcoming new position. Now I feel much more comfortable with Excel and was pointed to resources to continue learning Excel. I recommend Mr. F. Mr. F is extremely knowledgeable and has over 20 years of actual corporate experience using Excel.
Over 30 years of experience as a professional engineer, math, algebra, and physics tutor. I graduated from Kansas State University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have successfully tutored and coached my 3 kids through high school and college algebra, as well as many other students and friends. I enjoy helping students to understand the concepts and principles for solving problems rather than just plugging into formulas to get answers. Understanding is the key to success!
I am a professional engineer with over 30 years of experience. I graduated from Kansas State University in 1982 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have tutored students in College Algebra for many years, including my own 3 children. I love helping students understand the concepts of math and helping them to physically visualize what the math formulas represent, rather than simply chugging out the answers. This is the key to math success!
Microsoft Excel is probably the most powerful program ever written. I have used it for 20 years, including in a corporate environment, run my own service industry business on Excel, and managed entire projects through Excel. The most powerful typically used features I have found are the cell and form formatting, and the large library of built in functions.
I have been a MS Windows user since Windows was first introduced in the late 1980s. I am very familiar with how to navigate through most Windows functionality, including security, file management, program execution, and shortcuts. Windows expertise is necessary before one can master MS Office programs.
I completed two semesters of college engineering calculus based physics and was a professional tutor for physics students while attending Kansas State University.
