About Dustin

Everything in life requires work. Whether it is a passion or a duty, there are no shortcuts. I have had some great teachers over the course of my life in a wide variety of areas, whether it be how to read or how to hit a 90 mph fastball, the best teachers I had pushed me and made what I was doing enjoyable.

From the time I was 8 years old, I began taking hitting, pitching, and fielding lessons from Jeremy Jones, founder of Building Champions Baseball Academy and former professional catcher. I started playing competitive baseball at 9 years old and played for Jeremy's teams when I was young. As a high schooler, I went on to play baseball for Lee's Summit West High School as a catcher. The plan as of now is to continue my baseball career at Gordon College next fall. I am eager to share my passion for baseball with a new generation of ball players.

Academically, I made the academic honor roll all four years at Lee's Summit West and finished in the top 10 percent of my senior class. I took almost entirely advanced classes and received only one B during my time at Lee's Summit West. During my Junior and senior years, I took IB classes in History, Spanish, and English and received a 5 and two 6's on the 1-7 scale. I am excited to help kids discover a zest for learning in whatever area is necessary.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Baseball

I was a student of Jeremy Jones of Building Champions Baseball Academy from the age of 9 all the way up through high school. I caught for Lee's Summit West until an arm injury put my playing career on hold. I have extensive experience in OF and IF as well. I am pursuing playing baseball at Gordon College in the fall.
