I am currently teaching 3rd grade in a Saint Louis Public School and have been there since 2017-2018 school year. My favorite thing about teaching is when I get to witness my students have a light bulb moment and they have fully grasped the concept. I love to add in hands on activities that engage students in the learning process. I have always wanted to be an Educator and due to remote learning, I want to make sure that students are getting the services they need even at home.

Math has always been one of my favorite subjects. When teaching math I try to use multiple approaches because all students learn differently. Math is very formulated and a routine can easily be developed. I use multiple forms of media when teaching math to help students grasp the idea.

I like to make science as hands on as possible. I think it is important for students to experience science through experiments and/or hands-on projects. I give my students tasks that encourages them to think like scientists and use the scientific method to form and answer questions.

I am currently enrolled at University of Missouri- St. Louis to complete my Masters in Elementary Reading. Students can't really grow in other subjects if they do not have a grasp on reading. I encourage reading in all forms, listening to reading, partner reading, popcorn reading, group reading, etc.

I enjoy working with small groups and/or one on one because I feel more connected with my students that way. I am very personable and enjoy building relationships with my students. I think there are a lot of children learning from home that could use that extra support.

I would love to offer teaching services to at home learners and bring the classroom environment into the home setting. We may not be able to be in the classroom together but with one on one or small group instruction, we can still meet our learning objectives.
