I have a Jazz Saxophone degree with an emphasis on composition from the University of Missouri Kansas City (on scholarship) and have studied from a wide array of players, from Walter Smith III to Bobby Watson and performed with Bobby on his Gates Suite tour in Japan in 2010 and was a finalist for the Yamaha Young Artists Award.. I love teaching and have more than 16 years of experience, I have had multiple students accepted to prestigious music schools across the country including the Berklee School of Music, Webster University, and UMKC. Tone, Technique, Improvisation, Jazz Phrasing, Ear Training, etc.

Previous students of mine have made district jazz ensembles and one recently received a full tuition scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA (and was considered for the prestigious “Presidential Scholarship”).

I am a UMKC alumni who toured in Japan promoting the “Gates BBQ Suite” album with Grammy Award winner Bobby Watson (the album rose to #4 on the radio airplay charts).

I have over 22 years playing experience and 16 years of teaching experience including private lessons, master classes, band camps, and clinics. I have taught students from the 5th grade to men and women looking to pick up a new hobby.
