I am a lover of art and have the 3 degrees to prove it! I have my MFA in Photography from Kansas State University where I taught both Photography and 2D Design classes. I am now currently teaching photography & photography history at a local college in Kansas City and want to continue to work with students both in and out of the classroom.
When learning art a student can not be an observer but must participate in the learning of materials, the developing of ideas, and the creating of work. There is never good or bad artwork but a constant growth and development of ideas. I believe in students knowing the history of photography to help them develop into better photographers. I also believe in hands on learning so class time will be spent learning and playing with the camera. Assignments will be given so that students can practice skills learned in the classroom on their own.
I love art and love being able to share that love with others. I look forward to hearing if I can help you learn more about art!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an MFA in Photography from Kansas State University. I have taught photography courses on the college level for 3 years - including Kansas State University and Art Institutes International. I have taught film and digital photograph to both photography majors and students who were not art majors. I have also taught classes on the Photo Essay and Photography History.
