Columbia College (History)
Rockhurst Univerity (Master's)
I have a Masters from Rockhurst University and a degree in History from Columbia College. I have been a teacher for 13 years and am certified in English and Social Studies from 9-12 grades and Social Studies also 5-8th grades. I enjoy teaching and even more so being able to reach students to help them truly understand the subject matter that I have a passion for. I have a knack for making the stories of history come alive like a scene from a TV show and have created many devices for helping students remember information such as mnemonic devices, songs, raps, online quizzes and more.
I have attended both public and private secondary and post-secondary schools so I have had experience working with a vast variety of students and peers.
History is Life! No really, it is! It is fascinating if you think about it in different ways and I love to find out more and more to this day.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
