I graduated from college with a B.S. in secondary education with a major in social studies and history and received a teaching license. Following that, I had the opportunity to tour Western Europe for eleven weeks, bringing to life for me the many historical and cultural things I had read about.
My work as a teacher began with two years in Kenya. There, I taught secondary level world history, geography, English literature and writing. This gave me the experience of sharing what I had studied to people with a different global viewpoint.
Upon my return to the States, I took graduate courses at Georgia Southern University, receiving a Masters in Education there. I then taught for three years in Wisconsin, followed this with a three year course at a seminary and then have used this in a teaching ministry.
There is a great ocean of knowledge and experience in our world. I have found wonders of enjoyment in learning some of it. It is a privilege for me to open this for others, as well, through teaching and tutoring.
I am an outstanding history and geography tutor as I have mastered the knowledge and have had the opportunities to see varieties of it in the world first-hand. I also am confident in writing and can be of use in tutoring this, as well. I have put some of this in practice as a volunteer Youth Friend for three years in a local school.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I grew up receiving familiarity with the Bible through my parents' encouragement to participate in church and Sunday School. I went to a Christian college and took a minor in Bible. I taught some courses in Bible while a short-term missionary in Kenya. Later, I went to seminary, graduating with a Master's of Divinity degree, and have served as a pastor for thirty years. I have taught children and teens over the years and now teach an adult class in the Bible.
