I'm a 2014 graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia. I have a bachelors degree in Strategic Communication, with an emphasis in Advertising/Copywriting, from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. The journalism school at Mizzou is one of the oldest in the world and frequently appears in the top 3 rankings of Journalism schools worldwide, many years at number 1. In my four years in the program I studied grammar, news writing and reporting, and multimedia journalism before being accepted into my specific program within the School of Journalism, Strategic Communication, which encompasses both Public Relations and Advertising; my specific emphasis was copywriting for advertisements.

I have over 3 years of experience tutoring elementary, high school, and college level students. I have tutored a large variety of topics, such as writing, history, advertising, and reading, but most of my experience lies in preparing students for their ACT or SAT exams.

I have always excelled on exams such as the SAT, PSAT, ACT, etc. On my SAT, I scored, out of the then-current 2400, a 2280. On my ACT, my composite was a 35. I know a great deal about test preparation and strategies and would be able to share a wide variety of experiences and information with students based on their individual strengths and potential weaknesses.

As a recent college graduate, I understand the grading systems, teachers' expectations and style of teaching at the high school and college levels of education. I also have a very open schedule and am familiar with online instruction, so I'm happy to teach through whatever medium suits students best.

Because of a diverse range of experience, my familiarity with the expectations of several levels of education, and my personal success and experience with the major standardized tests, I know that I have a great deal to offer students.

Patient and Helpful

Max has been working on helping my son to become more organized, complete all assignments, and to raise his grade in Biology. Max has been able to connect with my son better than a tutor who worked with my son last year.

Mike, 14 lessons with Maximilian
