Hello! I am an enthusiastic tutor who believes that everyone can be successful in achieving their academic goals if given the right tools and motivation. Effort + willingness + resources = success! I am patient and willing to reconfigure and then reteach my lessons if my students are having a difficult time grasping the concepts being taught. Everyone learns differently, in my mind, and I have been trained to teach to all learning styles, so I try to keep that in mind when I am working with a student.

Generally, I like to talk to potential students and find out what expectations they have for tutoring, and then we can talk about short and long term objectives for the session(s). Every lesson is built on knowledge gained in the previous lesson and the end result is the achievement of the overall goal.

I have a certification from the State of Missouri to teach Elementary Education and I have many years of experience in tutoring English and writing to college students. In addition, I have a wide background in drawing and painting, and Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent instructor

I met with Christy for my first lesson on Friday. I was impressed with her knowledge and patience for all my questions. She was very easy to talk to and explained procedures to take to improve my computer skills (or lack of computer skills). I also appreciate the fact that if I have a quick question she is willing to help me with a phone call. Very good instructor. My second session was a very good experience. I appreciate the fact that she is so patient with me and explains what the problems are and helps me understand what to do. I would definitely recommend her.
