I am a graduate of California State University Monterey Bay, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as my California Teaching Credential. I have several years experience as an AVID Tutor and substitute teacher across many grade levels. I also taught Biology and DP Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) at an IB school in California for three years. As a DP ESS teacher I helped my students prepare for their internal and external assessments for the course. I mentored many students in writing their IB Extended Essays for the Diploma Program. Additionally, I have successfully prepared many of my students for the AP Biology and Environmental Science Exams.

As a level 2 google educator with over a year of experience teaching distance learning, I am very confident using, and helping students with, tech tools such as google classroom, sheets, slides, word, and other non google apps such as peardeck, desmos, ect. Outside of teaching science curriculum, I am a big proponent for teaching students skills such as general literacy skills, use of tech tools, test taking strategies, and growth mindset. It is my experience that tools like these transcend subject matter and help students in many aspects of academia and life.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, playing video games, and spending time outdoors surfing, biking, hiking, or playing basketball.
