My name is Brittany, and honestly, since I can remember, I have always like to teach and help others. Being the person in class (Math particularly) that understands what is going on, I felt it was my obligation to help my fellow classmates. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry, and just recently received my Master's of Science in Pharmacology. I have tutored off and on since I was a freshman in high school, and I love having the opportunity to help people learn, especially as it relates to Math and Science; which are my strong points. While in college, I had the opportunity to be a teacher assistant and tutor in General Physics, Calculus, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, where all of my students saw increase in grade percentage in the given course.
I specialize specifically in mathematics (Basic-Calculus level) and science (Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry). I can help students taking standardized test such as ACT, SAT, GRE improve their math scores; I teach the best techniques when taking a timed exam as well as teach basic concepts to succeed. I will assign a pre-tutorial assignment based on the given subject in order to assess the best approach in improving your understanding of the subject. Also expect a homework assignment after each session as well, in order to gauge understanding. I will provide you with a progress report to determine where you need to focus.
I would appreciate any feedback that you can provide regarding my services and if you feel unsatisfied I am willing to refund you for unsatisfactory services.
I work during the day, but can be available after 6pm during the week, and Saturday and Sunday's I am free at anytime until 9pm. I will allow cancellation of up to 2 hrs before a given session and if we need to reschedule I will be willing to work out the best time with you.
I am open to meet wherever you feel most comfortable studying.
I'm really excited to begin tutoring again and look forward to hearing from you and helping you accomplish your academic goals and endeavors! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have obtain my Bachelors degree in Chemistry. I also tutored organic chemistry for two years while in undergrad where students who attended my sessions showed significant improvement in test scores. I also worked in a organic chemistry/medicinal chemistry lab for 3 years.
