Columbia College (Biology)
I'm an undergrad senior in the Biology department at Columbia College. I currently hold a 3.94GPA, and have completed many advanced courses in mathematics, chemistry, and biology. Over the last year I have tutored full time with a group of students on campus, lecturing two to four times per week to four to ten students. I'm proud to say that all but one made it into Nursing School!
I spent ten years as a medic with the Army Reserve, including deployment to Iraq. During the last four years I taught continuing education units to other medics throughout the South East. Today, I work part time as a technician for a local pathology lab. I absolutely love teaching and bring energy and enthusiasm to students.

I have an enormous number of college credit hours in the sciences, many of them upper level. Additionally, I have a full year of experience tutoring at a collegiate level. These subjects are of particular interest to me personally, and I find that enthusiasm rubs off on others. I'm able to take many advanced concepts and break the down to plain English that makes topics easy to grasp.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have almost a full year of experience tutoring in the subject.
I have a 3.9GPA at Columbia College (as a senior of BS Biology and BA Psychology), with many of those courses in high level philosophy, psychology, and biology subjects. This has given me a strong command of the many different flavors of academic papers and formal styles (MPA, Chicago, and APA in particular).
