Hello, I'm Connor!

In 2018, I graduated from a private college preparatory with honors and a plethora of extracurricular credentials. The high school that I attended was academically rigorous and challenging, however immensely rewarding. I was not always the star scholar that I am now and with a hard work ethic my classes became fulfilling and advantageous. Nevertheless, I cannot take full responsibility for this outcome because without a relentless Algebra I teacher I would have not been pushed towards excellence. When it comes to education, I strongly believe that sometimes it simply takes another person standing in your corner to help you see your full potential.

Once the time for college came, I was accepted into almost every institution that I applied and found myself picking between prestige and compatibility. While it was a difficult declining once-in-a-lifetime acceptances, I realized that a liberal arts school nestled in the Finger Lakes was soon to be my home for the next four years. This is when I had realized that educational success boiled down to a single component; congruency. If I were to thrive in my thirst for knowledge, the environment around me had to be suitable for such growth. As a tutor, I believe that this is quintessential to the learning process. Through our values and dreams, we are able to achieve things far beyond our imagination and maintain the motivation to do so.

In college, I have been apart of the America Reads organization where we volunteer at public schools to aid students who face learning difficulties. It fills my heart to be able to give the supplemental one-on-one attention to those that need it. Every morning for an hour, we would teach our assigned student how to read. Seeing the information start to click was always a source of sincere joy. During those moments, I realized that tutoring was my calling. This is where I saw that every student, no matter what the level, had the opportunity to comprehend and discover the jubilation of learning.
