Hello! I am Macey. I graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education. I got my Certification after passing my exam after one attempt. While in college and teaching in a traditional classroom, I found what I enjoy most is exchanging knowledge with others who enjoy learning and those who are willing to put forth the effort to improve skills in subjects that may not be considered their strengths. My tutoring and teaching approach begins with detailed lessons plans that allow my students to be introduced to a subject in a non intimidating way, receive in-depth instruction, and allows them to have as much practice on the subject as they need. This format can easily be adjusted to fit each student’s individual needs.
I have 1 year of experience in in-person, classroom instruction teaching 7th grade math, 8th grade math, and 9th grade Algebra I. During class time, I worked with students as a whole, then broke into smaller groups or 1-on-1 sessions to ensure my students were received all of the attention and help they needed to understand the material. I also occasionally tutored students before and after school in these subjects.
I really want to give students who may not enjoy math or understand it as well as others a chance to see the beauty and necessity of the subject. I welcome any outside resources or suggestions from parents or students that may benefit my tutee’s experience. I respond quickly and encourage anyone who needs extra math help to contact me for further questions or to schedule a lesson.
