Hello,
I am offering personal currently of non-business math courses ranging from elementary arithmetic concepts through concepts found in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, and ACT Math. I do this by instructing students to work problems on paper or on a word processor, on graphing calculators (such as, but not limited to, the TI-84 Plus, the Casio CFX-9850G, etc.), online applets, or many other technologies that are available on the internet, as well.
I am a fully trained professional with a bachelor's degree in Math Education from California State University Long Beach, a teaching credential from Missouri State University, and a master's degree in teaching from University of Saint Mary, and also have over 10 years of public high school classroom experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages. I am fully adept at communicating and demonstrating multiple viewpoints of concepts which are vital to a student's success. And, because I know there usually exists multiple ways to solve math problems, I use my talents to show students how to think in this way by emphasizing to them that visualizing the problem at-hand more clearly by possibly using patterns, graphs, estimation techniques, or any other pertinent method, allows versatility and then students are not apt to try to remember only one method for solving any problem--which isn't an effective method for solving any problem usually--and students will possibly, and hopefully, as well, build confidence and skill.
Thank You,
Britt W.
