Bio

Hi, I'm Chad and I'm a 29 year old Math Teacher currently returning to college for an engineering degree. I've had a great deal of experience working with high school aged students, as I've worked at two different high schools and I've worked for a private tutoring company known as Club Z in the past. I love working with people and helping them overcome adversities to meet there full potential. Math is a special love of mine, although I enjoy English and Physics as well. I'm very...

I'm very friendly, always willing to help, and very flexible. If finances are an issue, I am more than willing to work on an individual basis to accommodate.

Subjects

Business

Financial Accounting,

Financial Accounting

I currently working towards a business administration minor and accounting was the class (actually, classes) that compelled me to do that. As a math oriented person, I enjoy working with numbers and as one who is ever-so-slightly OCD, I greatly appreciate the organization of accounting methods.
GRE,

GRE

I enjoy learning. Many have said that I am an oddity because not only do enjoy math and science, but I also really like English and the arts. As such, a comprehensive tests over all of these areas is right up my alley.
Managerial Accounting

English

Having grown up in a family that typically played games such as Scrabble, Upwords, Bananagrams, and the like on a regular basis, I developed a love for words and reading at an early age. I am now that guy that always mental corrects people when they misspeak or misspell something. I enjoy English and I love helping people learn and appreciate it.

History

Bible Studies

Bible Studies

I spent almost 2 years as a Bible worker--give Bible studies and facilitating small group studies. I typically use the ESV Bible our a New King James. I trend to shy away from paraphrases for study purposes. Personal information, such as denominational background, length of time as a Christian, testimony, or specific beliefs is available upon request.

Homeschool

Calculus,

Calculus

I love calculus. I took calc II twice, not because I had to, but because I wanted to understand it better. Calculus is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of mathematics. It has the strongest applications to the real world. And strangely enough, once it is properly understood, it is actually fairly easy to work with.

Geometry,

Geometry

Geometry was my favorite subject in high school. I passed it with a 98% and that was before 4 years of a math education degree. To this day, I still love geometry and I have had opportunity to teach it twice in LPS in the last couple years.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I worked with a large group of seniors at a private high school specifically on pre-calculus for one semester (and continued to help them from a distance for the following semester). I am one semester away from being certified to teach pre-calculus in any school in the US.

Math

ACT Math,

ACT Math

I opted to take the ACT rather than the SAT, myself, and therefore I am familiar with it's format and content. Beyond this, I am a Math Education major who will most likely spend a great deal of my time preparing students in the very areas that are targeted in the ACTs (namely, Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus).

Fitness

I am a very active person. I tend to lean towards more extreme sports, such as snowboarding, snowkiting, skydiving, etc., but I also enjoy running, swimming, biking, gymnastics, weight lifting, climbing, and slack lining. I'm NOT a certified personal trainer, but I am more than willing to help anyone set goals and monitor progress.

Helped my kids have better attitudes towards their studies!

My son felt very confident taking his exam today and is actually eager to find out how he did. Most of the time he seems to not care about his scores and does his utmost to avoid even thinking about math. I am happy at his change in attitude.
