I am an experienced teacher and National Merit Scholar ready to help you reach your academic goals. I have seven years of professional teaching experience including middle school, high school, college, and graduate level courses. I have also worked as a professional math tutor with the University of Chicago's Urban Education Institute, and trained as a teacher at Harvard's Graduate School of Education, studying English education. In my recent teaching career, I have specialized in K-12 and college level composition and reading.

My approach to teaching is student centered and flexible. Sometimes we'll dive deep into principals of algebra to rebuild foundational understandings, and sometimes we'll just talk guessing strategies for gateway tests like the ACT. Balancing principals and practice, we will together develop your confidence to tackle tests, compositions, and coursework.

My broad experience allows me to craft tutoring sessions that will meet your needs. I can help with current schoolwork you struggle with, but I am equally able to develop a supplemental curriculum to deepen your learning and bolster your readiness for the increasingly competitive college application process. My availability includes the summer and the weekends, and I am more than happy to meet you wherever it's most convenient.

My experience includes working with English Language Learners in Boston, gifted children in a middle school program in Santa Fe, New Mexico, teachers in training at Harvard University, AP senior English students, and 8th graders right here in central Missouri.
