I have a long history of working in education. In addition to working with students in grades K-12, I have two years of experience tutoring writing at a university level and a year of teaching English 101 (Introduction to College Writing) at the same university. I have completed both a BA and an MA in English and am currently looking into PhD schools to begin working towards a doctorate in English.
As stated earlier, I have a year of experience teaching Introduction to College Writing and two years of experience tutoring writing at the university level; I also have experience working with children as young as 5 on academic endeavors, so I'm as versatile as I am educated. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
