I have a both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Environmental Science, which is the umbrella subject for ecology. I am very passionate about the area, as well as science in general. I have a vast knowledge of ecological science, in particularly as it relates to (but not limited to) soil, water, and plant growth.
I tutored Spanish for 4 years in college, where I became a certified tutor of the subject. I still speak Spanish everyday. I have visited North Spain, where I had to speak Spanish 24/7. I learned Spanish in one year--I can teach you the best way to do that.
As a student, I was educated in three different countries; Jamaica, the UK, and the US. This has very much influenced the way I approach learning and teaching, in that, my worldview and experiences are very broad. I approach subjects from various points of view.
I was a tutor of Spanish all four years in College, which helped me tighten my tutoring skills. I also find that an English speaking person tutoring Spanish can be better than a Spanish speaking person because I already understand how you think and the mistakes you'll make.
I learnt Spanish in one year, from various friends, just by talking to them, and visiting their countries. I think the more you speak Spanish, the easier it becomes to learn.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
