I graduated, in May 2013, from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Master degree in Social Work. However, during my time as a student, I taught Spanish. Every semester, I had around 50 college students, 25 per classroom. I worked for the university as a Spanish Instructor until I finished my master program. The experience of teaching was amazing. I had excellent reviews from my students. Most of them wrote in their evaluations that I was always very enthusiastic and giving them confidence which motivated them to learn the language.
I am a very patient person, which I think it is very important when you are learning a second language. I am talking from my own experience. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
