About Eric

Hello. In the past I've tutored family friends, which was enjoyable, but now I'd like to help someone achieve their college admissions goals. While I'm certainly open to tutoring people who are trying to achieve different goals, the opportunity to help someone get a 32 on the ACT for Brightflight, for example, sounds like a lot of fun. Tutoring / teaching to me is very rewarding because it's an opportunity to show others the wonderous nature of the things that interest me.
Here's a bit about me. I'm graduating this semester with a double major in Psych / Phil from the University of Columbia. Lately, I've been taken by the hard sciences so I've been taking some programming classes and Calc II. Hopefully, I'll be able to continue taking some math and com sci courses after I graduate. As you can tell I have a strong background in Psychology, Philosophy, Mathematics, and to a much lesser degree Computer Science.

I'm currently taking Calc II so I'm more than ready to tutor anything from Pre-Calculus down to Algebra.

Through majoring in Psychology, and being a research assistant, I've been exposed to the cutting edge research going in a large swath of the field. I'm also extremely familiar with any of the typical 'Intro - Psychology' material that's normally covered in high-school.

Please contact me if your interested, right now I am very busy (full-time student, part-time job) so I'll need a bit of notice before for scheduling tutoring sessions - 2 days won't cut it. Look forward to hearing from you.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
