I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May 2015. I have since traveled to a few Spanish-speaking countries, including Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. I worked for JumpStart while an undergrad, and I have years of experience working with older children and younger ones. I currently work as a nanny using language immersion (I only speak Spanish to the infant).
I graduated with a 3.5 GPA and tutored students at Mizzou for about 3 years in a variety of subjects. I feel as though that gave me optimal practice for tutoring on a larger scale.
I am currently enrolled in graduate school. I have the skills to provide students with the tools and resources to understand the subject material and thrive in a subject. I give tips and strategies to help learn most effectively in the course and the best ways to grasp course material. I can provide students with study skill strategies to help them study more efficiently in courses with a concentrated level of reading as well as study skill strategies to study more efficiently in Spanish courses. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
