My name is Kyle and I have had a longtime interest in math, science, and education. I am a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Delaware with Biochemical Engineering and Physics minors. UD's Chemical Engineering program was in the country's top 10 during the years I attended. I have four years' experience tutoring and I am currently employed as a scientist in the St Louis area.

It's my desire to help students of all levels with math and science. This includes homework assistance, test and quiz prep, technical writing, and more. Students have said I help explain concepts in more than one way, I'm patient, and non-judgmental. If I don't provide the assistance you want or if you're not satisfied in any way, you have no obligation to continue for any period of time. Let me know how I can help and I look forward to working with you!

Further details: experience
- I began tutoring through the National Math and Science Honors Societies in high school. This volunteer 1-on-1 peer tutoring program helped formalize a passion for helping others understand concepts they had previously found frustrating and difficult to grasp.
- In college I tutored through a paid service managed by the University of Delaware. I worked with peers on chemistry, physics, and calculus, again in a 1-on-1 setting. No formal metrics were kept on grades or performance, but students cited my help as crucial to their confidence and success.
- After graduating I worked in Delaware at a start-up polymers company and continued tutoring on evenings and weekends. I moved to St Louis in Dec 2016 for a job in pharmaceutical process development and am using Wyzant as a platform to continue helping students grow and learn.

Further details: philosophy
- I firmly believe that the root of confusion in STEM fields is poor explanations and the root of mastery is repetition. I endeavor to explain concepts in multiple ways and to encourage practice. I will ask students to explain concepts back to me to help demonstrate learning and will ask students leading questions to help develop patterns of thought rather than simply share the answer. This level of interaction is best achieved through 1-on-1 tutoring, making it my preferred approach.
- I deeply value my high school education as a crucial and formative precursor to success in college. I want to help other students develop the educational foundations required for years of future growth. Of all subjects, algebra lays that crucial foundation for higher level math, science, engineering, economics, accounting, finances, and more. I look forward to helping you master this dynamic subject.
