Hello! My name is Destiny and I am a college graduate student who has a diverse academic history in both social and health sciences. I first double-majored in Anthropology and Spanish, in which I learned about the holistic history of mankind in biological and sociocultural terms. I also gained a deep understanding of the grammar and mechanics of the Spanish language (B2 proficiency), especially when I studied abroad and lived in Quito, Ecuador for several months.
When I returned to the United States, I decided to also study nutrition and dietetics. I am currently enrolled in a dietetics graduate program where I am learning about the science of Applied Nutrition so that I can eventually become a registered dietitian.
I have been excited to tutor students in the fields that I have knowledge. I have some experience tutoring Spanish to undergraduate college students, as I have taught a medical Spanish course alongside a professor at my university. I also tutored English to native Spanish speakers in my Ecuadorian university. Both of these experiences help me understand how to best teach Spanish (and English) to those wanting to develop a strong base knowledge of the language.
I also love nutrition and health sciences; my younger brother is a freshman in college and I have guided him in his anatomy, psychology, and nutrition courses. I believe the early courses of one's degree are the foundation for the rest of their education, and I love adapting to new ways of teaching these basic principles to new students.
