I received my nursing degree via traditional ground classes in a four year program (two years of pre-requisites and two years nursing theory/clinicals). I have since retired from nursing to pursue teaching. If I had to pick one thing from my nursing career that stood out the most, it would be patient/family education. It was essential for patients and family members to have an understanding of the disease process, medications, nutrition etc... and majority of the time, education was started at ground zero. Being a part of the questions and concerns leading up to that glimpse of understanding in their eyes is what fueled my desire to teach. I firmly believe that once the basics (putting thought to paper effectively) are discovered, a new student is born.
My graduate level work was all online and even though my degrees took six years to complete, there was not moment where I was not learning "how to learn." I am so grateful for the online experience and the instructors who stood up and gave me the opening to a new world of freedom. For me, education is the foundation of all life and the building bricks include the intricacies of the learning process. I find there are many educational values each tutor/instructor shares with a student. My personal value is that not all learning comes from the study of course content. If you are having difficulties with a certain subject or area of study, we can slow it down a bit, back up if need be, and identify a more appropriate learning strategy so you can move forward, successfully.
My studies in nursing and my bachelor's degree in nursing began my relationship with life sciences. This provided me with a spring board into teaching nursing students in clinical settings as well as teaching an introductory dialysis course to newly hired nurses at the hospital level. My Master's Degrees in Psychology and Life Coaching were achieved via online classes. This deepened my connection with life sciences in that it taught me how structure my time and organize my work/home/school

Excellent tutor, very knowledgeable!
Robin was very patient and understanding. She was able to quickly guide me through the process of HTN to where I could understand it. Our session left me feeling much more confident. I know she will be a wonderful resource throughout my program and I look forward to future sessions with her.Xzavier, 1 lesson with Robin
We went over diabetes as I struggle in that area. She was able to explain things in a way that made it easy to understand. It was a great lesson and very informative!Rachel, 6 lessons with Robin
Robin is a professional and added relevant insight that I hadn't considered for this assignment. I truly appreciated her caring nature and help with APA formatting (challenging for me), and correcting my grammer. I highly recommend her as a tutor.Mia, 2 lessons with Robin

Amazing nursing educator!
She really broke things down for me and helped me to better understand the “whys” and “hows”, and helped me build on my critical thinking skills. I restrained a lot from just one session, and can’t wait for the next. Highly recommend!Amanda, 1 lesson with Robin
Great tutoring experience
Robin is fantastic at helping me organize my thoughts and empowering me to take control of my learning process. She's so patient and I really appreciate her expertise in nursing and writing as I work on my BSN. She's helping me learn in a way that's bigger than just memorizing data points; after each session, I can recognize how she's helped me stretch my brain a bit further. Highly recommend!Marie, 6 lessons with Robin
