Hi! I'm Rachel. I have a degree in civil engineering, and worked for 5 years as a traffic engineer before venturing into the tutoring world by working as a math tutor in an elementary school. Throughout my time in school, I often would help my friends in their math classes. During my time working as an engineer, I learned to troubleshoot and analyze how well different processes were working. I bring this approach to my tutoring - I understand that people learn differently, and what works well for one student may not work well for another. I love being able to watch as students suddenly grasp a concept that they have been struggling with, and seeing them build confidence in their own abilities!

In working as an elementary school math tutor, I have become familiar with teaching elementary level math to small groups of students. I have been able to see students start out a class confused by a topic, and end class feeling confident in their understanding. I believe that all students are capable of doing great things, and it is a joy to watch as students start to believe that too!

In addition to elementary level math, I also enjoy tutoring Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and math for standardized testing. Additionally, I also enjoy tutoring civil engineering students in transportation topics. In order to best serve the students I tutor, I welcome any materials, resources, or suggestions that parents would like to provide. I would love to hear from you!

Please note - I never want finances to be the reason your child does not get the help they need. If you are interested in working with me, but cannot afford my rate, please reach out and I am happy to work with you.

Very kind and charismatic

My son left out of the lesson very satisfied with the knowledge that he’s learned. He was so very nice and very much worth the money. I would recommend her to anybody that’s looking.

Highly recommend

As far as i'm concerned Rachel is qualified to tutor Elon Musk, Albert Einstein, etc. Super prepared before hand which was a big time saver. Was well worth charged fees. Can't go wrong with Rachel!

Helpful and caring!

Rachel helped me accomplish a higher score on my math assignment. The assignment involved dividing fractions. She gave me tips and tricks on how to solve these problems correctly the first time. I really enjoyed our session and I will be booking another session soon.

Rachel explains math very clearly

Rachel explained very well and made sure what she taught was understood by my daughter. She uses different ways to describe a solution.
