In college, I am majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with minors in Math and Dance. I made the Dean's list in both semesters of my college career thus far with an overall GPA of 3.79 at Boston University.

My extensive experience with math and science has always been accompanied by tutoring. In high school, as a part of National Honor Society, I completed over 100 tutoring hours over two years, working with individuals in algebra, precalculus, biology, and chemistry. Other tutoring experience includes 10 hours in general and analytical chemistry through Wyzant's online platform, and 20 hours in elementary age math and reading. I have enjoyed tutoring because I love helping students find their a-ha moments, feeling they truly understand the material. To me, the most important aspect of tutoring is ensuring that the student is capable and comfortable with the material, so that they can solve problems and apply their knowledge completely on their own. For example, in order for the student to succeed in math, I provide an example of how I would approach and completely solve a type of problem. Then, I move to another example and encourage them to attempt the problem on their own, asking them questions about their thought process and providing guidance instead of taking over. In school, I always learn better and feel more comfortable asking questions when I'm one on one with a teacher. I am looking to provide this invaluable personal connection and personalization of material for students that is not always available in the classroom.

My passion for helping others learn stemmed not only from my academic experience, but from my experience with dance. I grew up doing competitive dance and continue that passion with a minor in college. Through 7 years of ass
