B.A. University of Minnesota/ Twin Cities (History)
University of Minnesota (Master's)
I have both my B.A. in History and my M.Ed in Social Studies Education from the University of Minnesota Twins Cities. I have two years of teaching experience and 3 years of tutoring experience. I taught grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. The subjects I taught were: Ancient World History, Modern World History, and I.B. Theory of Knowledge. I also have a Minnesota teaching license as well as an I.B. Theory of Knowledge certificate.
The goal for each tutoring session is to keep students engaged and challenged. Material covered should be challenging enough to keep students engaged while they can still be successful.
Although I do not have any formal certificates to teach reading and writing, I do have lots of experience with teaching both. As required by International Baccalaureate (I.B.), students who take Theory of Knowledge must complete a 6-8 page essay to receive their I.B. Diploma. I was responsible for reading and proofreading my students' papers. I also provided my students with strategies to help them be successful with their essays. Also, writing and critical reading are a major component to teaching the Social Studies.
I am qualified to teach the following: American History, World History, Anthropology, Sociology, Economic, Political Science, and Geography.
Please feel free to message me if you need help in any subject! I have both my B.A. in History and my M.Ed in Social Studies Education from the University of Minnesota Twins Cities. I have two years of teaching experience and 3 years of tutoring experience. I taught grades 9, 10,
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
