English is my first language, but having studied abroad in Chile, I understand how hard it can be to learn an additional language.
Before teaching I studied at UW-Madison and then became a program director for a YMCA camp. I come to teaching with a love of youth work and a deep respect for diverse learners. Currently, I am at home with my two young children.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
