About Kellen

Bio

I am a resident doctor at the University of Minnesota. Throughout college, I used my love of all things science to tutor many students in chemistry and biology at the University of North Dakota. I have a strong passion for teaching of all kinds and have found Wyzant a great place for me to continue teaching many of the subjects I've always loved.

As I've mentioned, I have a very extensive background in pretty much all things science, especially biology, chemistry, physiology, and anatomy....

I have a strong passion for teaching of all kinds and have found Wyzant a great place for me to continue teaching many of the subjects I've always loved.

As I've mentioned, I have a very extensive background in pretty much all things science, especially biology, chemistry, physiology, and anatomy.

I have a wealth of experience in big time test prep as well as I've taken the MCAT and GMAT as well as the ACT and PSAT back in high school so I can also provide help on any of those tests.

All in all I love to tutor. I love helping people gain knowledge and confidence in a subject they may have previously been worried and I find it very enjoyable to hear from my students when they've had a great success on a test I helped them with. So feel free to send me an email and let me help you dominate your future classes and tests.

I have always enjoyed math and numbers and it is one of my main draws to business. I have never formally held a tutoring position in math, but have helped many friends along the way and have always been told I do a great job of making things simple and putting things in layman's terms. I have taken numerous post secondary math classes as well as statistics and physics so I have a robust knowledge of math in general as well.

Being that I am a resident physician, I live, eat, and breathe pretty much all things science every day. I have always found science fascinating and have tutored and taught it as a teacher's assistant for 4 years prior to starting medical school.

If you've read this far, hopefully you've liked what you've seen. I would love to hear from you and schedule a lesson, no matter how small or how big a task you might think it is. Please feel free to read my student reviews for an example of what students think of my style and ability. I look forward to working with you.

Knowledgable, relatable

Kellen was very good at explaining things to a way in which I could understand it whether it was my precalculus homework or working on orbitals and the octet rules in chemistry. Kellen's intelligence promotes his capabilities of tutoring because he does not have to even look at a single bit of information to know what I am asking about. Like in chemistry, without looking at the periodic table, he could explain the concepts electronegativity, ionic energy, and atomic radius and their trends without even taking a single glimpse of information. His knowledge is off the charts and does a very good job using it to his advantage when catering to your tutoring needs. If anyone ever has any really tough questions, Kellen is the guy!

Personable and Perceptive

We had a great first meeting with Kellen! He was able to connect with our daughter very well. He asked questions that formed a game plan that would work with her needs and personality. He is very personable, realistic and willing to roll up the sleeves to help get through challenges and get on the right path for positive outcomes.

Excellent!

Kellen was a very easy to understand, patient tutor. He helped my daughter with her biology class, ensuring that she grasped all of the information he was teaching. She left Kellens lesson feeling much more confident about the subject, and is very much looking forward to another session with Kellen, as he taught in a very good way that kept her engaged, and interested in learning about biology. Thank you, Kellen!
