Saint Catherine University (English and French)
Greetings to you, my reader,
I have spent my entire life learning English. My mother emigrated from China and surprised everybody when she was able to speak English because she had been taking night class lessons without anybody realizing! I enjoy research in English, language studies, linguistics, grammar, the evolution of language (such as slang), and writing. Within me I hold close that education is a benefit to the student and their communities (however large that implies).
In high school I was given a plaque that read, "Most Likely to Succeed in English," and haven't deterred too far from that path. Simultaneously, I was also awarded the, "Most Likely to Succeed in French," because I had taken French every year of high school (as of 2013 I am entering my eighth year of French)!
I am a student at Saint Catherine University, majoring in English (Creative Writing) and French (Language) with a minor in Women in the Arts (an assemblage of classes in studio art, art theory, theater, music, literature with the main focus being women). I have the total of seven small time publications in a local zine called Womanhouse and my university's literary magazine, Ariston. I have considered graduate school for a degree in teaching and I believe tutoring will help me in my goal.
In the future I hope to be well established, financially autonomous, and published.
Although I highlight English as my specialty I am also proficient (and willing to relearn and research for the benefit of the student) in French and history.
Some of my past employment and volunteer positions include the Children's Museum of Minnesota, the University of Minnesota, Saint Catherine University and 3M.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or clarification. Thank you for looking! Greetings to you, my reader,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Over the course of my high school and college career I have learned many skills on Publisher. One of my favorite assignments was trying to copy an advertisement of local store and restaurants to see who could get the closest. I am very interested in marketing and advertisement as well so I can piece together about anything in Publisher. I currently do not have it on my home computer but can pick it right back up.
