I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Mathematics and still continue with my education. My goal was to continue in education to become a teacher or working toward a Master in Mathematics.
I have experience working with diversity students as a math tutor. I help students with their math assignment in any level. My goal as a tutor is to help students improve their math skills with pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, geometry, and etc. I have passion for what I do and hoping to help make a difference in others life. My daughter had her first tutoring session with Sue today. She was excited to tell me all about it as we drove home. She has gone in after school for extra help from her Algebra teacher, as well as in the after school learning center, and still wasn't grasping some concepts. She said, "Sue was terrific!" They worked on log functions and she said, "It's finally making sense! If I didn't get it, Sue was very patient with me, explained it again or in another way and broke it down into small steps that I could understand!" I can't remember the last time she was excited about Algebra! Thank you, Sue! We look forward to meeting you next week for another tutoring session.
He is very patient and great at giving direction. Seems to really like what he is doing. She was struggling and now feels more comfortable with concepts.
Su has done a terrific job helping my son with pre-Calc better than his teacher has. Su is patient, punctual, and persistent - everything my son needed. I can't recommend him more highly.
My daughter had a great session with Sue! He was very nice with her and she felt very comfortable asking all her questions and learning different ways to solve a problem. He knew immediately what she was trying to learn and helped her understand what she was missing in school. We would definitely call him back in the future for more tutoring sessions!
Sue really explained things step by step and not only for a problem we worked on, but gave me tools to help learn for future problems. I am not one to write reviews. In fact, I can't remember the last review I wrote, but Sue was a great tutor!
Very patient guy. He was on time and helped a lot with algebra 1 my daughter was having problems with. He worked with our schedule and came to our home to do the tutoring sessions.
My son got a new teacher for Pre Calculus this year. Her teaching style and my sons learning style didn't mesh at all. By midterms he was getting very poor grades and struggling to get through the material. Sue has been great at taking the information and translating it to some thing my son can relate to. His grades have improved two letter grades since midterms. Thanks.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
