Biology Major, Secondary Education Minor

I recently graduated from a private high school as co-valedictorian and I will be attending the College of Saint Benedict for the next four years to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Biology. I hope to teach biology after graduating, but until then I would love to do some tutoring while going to school. Graduating as co-valedictorian was such an honor for me and it showed my friends, classmates, parents, and relatives how hard-working and dedicated I am to school. I realized that school and teaching is my passion and I cannot wait to get started.

I have two years of experience tutoring underclassmen in Chemistry, Advanced Algebra, Spanish I, and Biology. My senior year I spent one semester being a teaching assistant in a High School Biology class. My duties as a teaching assistant included correcting tests, guiding students through POGIL activities, stand-up reviews, and I even taught whole lessons. That experience is really the reason I want to become a teacher. I love watching students progress and succeed in school and I hope it will positively impact their life.

Throughout school I excelled in all of my math classes and I took the highest level math course offered at my school: College in the Schools Calculus I. I also tutored multiple students in Intro to Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Algebra.

I excelled in my science classes as well. I took Biology as a freshman, Chemistry, College in the Schools Anatomy and Physiology, and Field Biology and Ecology. I have a passion for the sciences and I have tutored and taught Biology.
