High school was an important time for me. I did well: I graduated at the top of my class, earned a National Merit Scholarship, scored well on the ACT and SAT, and earned a number of scholarships that allowed me to go to college for free. Along the way, I competed in math, science, and creative thinking competitions and won many awards at the state level and a few at the national level. I learned a lot of secrets to success in high school and the college-bound track that I am happy to share.

After college I worked as an engineer for 2 large factories. I had the chance to invent of number of gizmos and gadgets like an electric motor that operated with water running through the middle of it. That was fun, but not fulfilling. I then volunteered for 15 years in Latin America, inventing new gizmos and gadgets for impoverished coffee farmers so they could process and export their coffee. I'm proudest of a decaffeinator we built in Guatemala. One of the occupational hazards of that job is it made me a serious coffee snob.

I remember being bored in 7th grade biology class. We were talking about temperatures scales, and I thought I could figure out where Fahrenheit and Celsius were equal. I figured it out to be 40 degrees, and accidentally invented algebra in the process.

I scored well on standardized tests. I got invited to a six week math class at Iowa State University, then a one week class as the Air Force Academy. Along the way, I got all A's in math, and won a couple of awards. Best of all, I met my high school sweetheart at a math competition.

So that's me. Let's talk and figure out I know that's useful to you. I'm available when you are.
