About Patrick

I am a 2012 college graduate of Crossroads College in Rochester, Minnesota. I received three Bachelor's Degrees including one in Youth, Family & Community Studies. I was a substitute teacher in the Rochester Public School District. After moving to California, I learned that I could not substitute teach as the standards are different out here. I am currently a Paraeducator in the Corona-Norco District and working on my Master's degree online through Liberty University.

I graduated with High Honors (4.0+) from Norco High School and Summa Cum Laude from Crossroads College. I was four year starter and captain of the basketball team at Crossroads. I also coached their women's team after graduating. I can tutor almost any subject with a little notice and do have about a year of 1-on-1 tutoring experience. I would be glad to help if I can.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have been working with special needs children and adults in various settings, including the classroom. Currently, I am a one-on-one paraeducator for a sixth grade boy with autism. I help him in all aspects of his school day. I am also ABA trained and do two one-on-one ABA sessions every day.

Bible Studies

I have two Bachelor's degrees in the area of biblical studies. One is in Biblical Studies and Theology. The other is in Biblical Thought and Literature. Additionally, I am studying for my MA in Pastoral Counseling.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience as a paraeducator and as a substitute teacher in elementary schools over the past two and a half years. I have helped many students with their reading, writing, comprehension, and math. I have watched great teachers and learned a few things along the way.

Special Needs

I have worked with special needs adults and children extensively over the past four years. I have worked as a direct support professional in a group home. My wife and I managed a home for adults with special needs where we had to oversee their physical care as well as implement programs and goals. I have been a paraeducator and substitute teacher in several different paraeducator classrooms. I am currently a one-on-one paraeducator for a sixth grade boy with autism.

Study Skills

I did undergrad work for six years as I obtained three different BA degrees. During this time, I had to learn how to study efficiently and effectively. I am currently working on my Master's degree online. Study skill are especially relevant as I balance studying and homework with two jobs and a marriage. I was a substitute teacher in the Rochester Public School District.
