I really enjoy working one on one with students and I have a lot of experience helping students with difficult material. I tutored ESOL students in high school on many topics, but mostly math. In college I was a teaching assistant for several biology classes (Human Physiology, Comparative Physiology, Diversity, and Introductory Biology for non-majors) while doing my Master's research at the Ohio State University. This involved running recitations, labs, and having a lot of help sessions with students. My favorite part about getting my Masters was working with students, so after I graduated I applied for teaching positions. I currently work as a senior teaching specialist at a branch campus of the University of Minnesota. My job is 100% teaching focused.

My approach to tutoring is to make it as interactive as possible. I ask questions while going through material to ensure understanding of the material. I love to draw out processes and work through information step by step. My favorite topics are Anatomy and Physiology, especially Endocrinology. I have also taught Introductory Biology courses, Genetics, and Microbiology and enjoying working through those subjects as well.

Jennifer has been so helpful and knowledgeable

Jennifer has helped our daughter tremendously in her class this semester. She connects with her and is flexible. She always makes sure she is prepared for the lesson by obtaining classroom material prior to lesson from our daughter. We have been so very pleased with Jennifer!!
