I graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota, Duluth in the Spring of 2020. During college, I tutored for 3 years and earned the Master Tutor Certification through the UMD tutoring center. I graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota, Duluth in the Spring of 2020. During college, I tutored for 3 years and earned the Master Tutor Certification through the UMD tutoring center. I also worked as an in-class teacher's assistant for the physics department for those 3 years. Through all this experience, I discovered a real love for teaching and helping students to engage with the material.

Throughout my K-12 education, math was always my least favorite subject and many of my teaches would surprised to learn I decided to pursue Electrical Engineering. However, during college I had the opportunity to really dive into the material, showing me that math and physics provide an extremely fulfilling challenge that forces you to think in a whole new way.

In K-12, these subjects were taught in a tedious "formulaic" (excuse the pun) manner. With cookie cutter problems that required cookie cutter solutions that you just needed to memorize. This tedious memorization really drew me away from math, but in college they taught it differently. They provided you a "toolbox" of concepts to use when solving a problem, exchanging the redundant, toilsome problems from high school into puzzles that you could solve using that tools you learned in class.

This toolbox approach to teaching is what I use when tutoring as it gives the students an opportunity to grasp the real core concepts of the material. It is a far more effective, engaging, and rewarding approach to learning. I really try to get the student to enjoy the subject I'm teaching.

I am excited to work with you! Please reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a session. I will generally respond within one day to any messages.
