Nina was prompt, professional and clearly has experience teaching Russian. She immediately engaged me at my level (beginner), and we covered more than I thought possible in an hour. She is energetic, focussed, and has an excellent understanding of the elements of learning involved in language acquisition. Highly recommended.
I look forward to meeting with Nina every week, we not only have a lot of fun together but I've noticed rapid improvement in my language speaking abilities. Nina is patient and honest with me.
Very natural at teaching. Focuses on more than grammar, but how the words should roll off your tongue. She knows how to push you and believe in you. Excellent tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was a teacher in Russia for 16 years. In addition, I have Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in English and German and the teaching thereof, from a regionally accredited institution (U.S. Equivalency).
I have a short-call substitute teaching license from the State of Minnesota - Department of Education. I currently work for the Hopkins School District.
