Hi! My name is Brian. I graduated with a BS in computer science from Columbia University in New York in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I received summa cum laude Latin honors, and I also received the Jonathan L. Gross Award for Academic Excellence, the highest CS departmental honors. I am currently a software engineer at Google and a machine learning researcher at Columbia University Medical Center. I have an extensive math background, as my area of study and research focus is intelligent systems (machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, etc.).
I have taught students in grade school, high school, and undergraduate college in math and computer science throughout the years. My goal when learning is to focus on understanding, and that is the way I like to teach. When I work with a student, I try to ensure that the student fully understands the concept before moving on. I am very patient, and I believe I teach in a way that is very approachable and understandable.
In math, I can help with: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra.
In computer science, I can help with: Java, C++, C, Data Structures, Algorithms, Object Oriented Programming.
Please reach out if you have any questions or would like my help with any of the topics listed!
