I'm Kristen! I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) with a minor in TESOL. I have completed an extensive amount of coursework in Elementary Education K-6 and have over 300 hours of in classroom teaching experience. I was a French college tutor, I have taught English in China to children in grades 1 - 6 and helped run English classes for a English Camp for kids in Poland. I am also a student of languages myself! I've been learning French for the past 5 years and have a B2 competence level. I love tutoring because I love encouraging others and tutoring gives me the chance to work with students and help them make progress and witness them reach their goals.

I love math! In fact in high school I wanted to become a high school math teacher. I find it to be so satisfying when you complete a problem correctly and come to the right answer. Mathematics came easy to me and I was able to take 5 years of math classes during the 4 years of high school, but I also understand what it means to struggle. When I got to Calculus it was like an alien language to me and it took a lot of confusion, frustration, and even tears before anything started to make sense. Because of this you'll find I am a patient, understanding, and encouraging tutor who is more than happy to sit with you until feel like you can do it on your own!

I have completed coursework in Elementary Education K-6 which included science classes as well as a science curriculum, and I've written and taught a successful science unit to 4th graders.

I have a certified degree in TEFL with a minor in TESOL. I have 135 hours of teaching English through a TEFL internship in China. I've tutored French middle schoolers in French helping them with English, taught English lessons in French to French elementary schoolers, and have even volunteered in an Adult ESL Writing class.

It means a lot to me to celebrate success and growth no matter how small and I'd love to help out in any way I can. I am easy to contact and

Patient Tutor

My son has really enjoyed working with Kristen. She is patient with him and helping him to understand Math on his learning level. Fractions has been a struggle, but now he is much confident. She gives very thorough notes on each session and I like how she goes back and review to make sure he retains what he has learned. She is a blessing to work with.

Kristen is a math goddess.

Period. Working with her one on one in the us short amount of time, has my son feeling far more confident in math, than he has in a very long time. Thank you Kristen!

Tackles the problem head on!

Kristen got online with my son and immediately dove into breaking down problems he’s been struggling with. No fluff or time wasted. She did not give boring instruction and assignment, she worked alongside my son and course-steered his direction.

Patient and knowledgeable tutor

Kristen was very patient with my son. I liked how she found multiple ways to teach the skill that he was struggling with until he was able to gain an understanding of the concept. I also liked that she forwarded a recording of their lesson and a written note on what they covered in the session.

Kept Granddaughter On Task

My granddaughter needed help with elementary math. She liked Kristen right away which is half the battle to keep her interested. She addressed our concerns and my granddaughter made progress. I'm hoping she will be able to keep up with middle school math better now.
