I'm Kristen! I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) with a minor in TESOL. I have completed an extensive amount of coursework in Elementary Education K-6 and have over 300 hours of in classroom teaching experience. I was a French college tutor, I have taught English in China to children in grades 1 - 6 and helped run English classes for a English Camp for kids in Poland. I am also a student of languages myself! I've been learning French for the past 5 years and have a B2 competence level. I love tutoring because I love encouraging others and tutoring gives me the chance to work with students and help them make progress and witness them reach their goals.

I love math! In fact in high school I wanted to become a high school math teacher. I find it to be so satisfying when you complete a problem correctly and come to the right answer. Mathematics came easy to me and I was able to take 5 years of math classes during the 4 years of high school, but I also understand what it means to struggle. When I got to Calculus it was like an alien language to me and it took a lot of confusion, frustration, and even tears before anything started to make sense. Because of this you'll find I am a patient, understanding, and encouraging tutor who is more than happy to sit with you until feel like you can do it on your own!

I have completed coursework in Elementary Education K-6 which included science classes as well as a science curriculum, and I've written and taught a successful science unit to 4th graders.

I have a certified degree in TEFL with a minor in TESOL. I have 135 hours of teaching English through a TEFL internship in China. I've tutored French middle schoolers in French helping them with English, taught English lessons in French to French elementary schoolers, and have even volunteered in an Adult ESL Writing class.

It means a lot to me to celebrate success and growth no matter how small and I'd love to help out in any way I can. I am easy to contact and

Incredible tutor! Helped our daughter love math!

Kristen has been tutoring our daughter every week for over a year now and I can’t say enough amazing things about her! Our daughter went from getting extremely frustrated and disheartened with math to absolutely loving it and showing confidence when doing it. She looks forward to seeing Kristen each week! Kristen is flexible, kind, and patient. I can’t imagine another tutor for our daughter and we are so grateful we found her! Thanks Kristen!

Math is fun again!

Kristen does an excellent job at the sessions in making sure the math is understandable and my son enjoys his sessions very much! He is learning new higher-level math concepts with Kristen than his class is currently learning and she is able to make learning the new concepts seamless with what he is learning at school with now. Thanks so much Kristen and we look forward to more sessions!
