Hello my name is Kevin I am a young, fun, energetic tutor looking to assist in instilling concepts and applications in both math and sciences to students of many levels. Here is a little bit of my tutoring journey. I started off tutoring in the fall of 2012 when I was a first-year undergraduate at Michigan State University (MSU). At the time, I was working for an on campus tutoring center at MSU for the college students called the Math Learning Center. I worked all evenings after classes for 3hrs a night (every hour that the center was open). At the time I could teach everything at the calculus II level and below because that was the course that I was in at the time. As I learned new material in my own coursework, I progressed my tutoring in those subjects, almost at the same time I was learning it myself. These subjects included linear algebra, abstract algebra, multivariable calculus and differential equations to name a few. I moved through the tutor rankings pretty well semester after semester until after two years (4 semesters of tutoring) my third year of undergrad in the fall of 2014. I got promoted to the Supervisor of the Math Learning Center. This was not a role given to just the strongest tutor at the facility, this was a leadership and facilitator role. It involved organizing tutor schedules, assisting tutors explain concepts, and acted as the last line of defense if a tutor was unable or stuck on a question to assist a student. I had about 20 tutors I managed and an average flow of about 60 students a night looking for tutors. At this same time, I became an assistant to a math professor to help with lecture. I jointly helped lead a calculus I lecture 2 sessions a week for 240 students each session. I remained in both roles until I graduated from MSU with honors from the Honors College in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a major in Mathematics. When I graduated, I moved to North Carolina for work and started tutoring at Omega Learning center in the fall of 2017

His title fits him well!

The kids were very happy with the tutoring session and felt like they learned a lot in a short amount of time. Thank you! We plan on scheduling more lessons. They aren't as worried about the test now. :)

Very knowledgeable and considerate tutor

Kevin seems experienced on identifying a student's strengths and weaknesses. He adjusts his speed based on how well you know each topic, which is much appreciated since when the lessons are timed! Overall very helpful, explains the process thoroughly, and answered most questions I had before I had even formed the words. :)

Advanced Placement Calculus

Kevin was great with my son Alex. He’s missed most of the school year after being hospitalized and has been stressed about getting caught up, but after only the first session with Kevin he said he has a lot more confidence in getting back on track!

Alex, 2 lessons with Kevin

Very patient!

Kevin helped me with my differential equations homework in which I was lost, but he made the problems look really really easy, and he’s very patient too!

Mario, 2 lessons with Kevin

Patient and Dependable

He helped me every step of the way on very tedious calculus problems. I appreciate how dedicated he was in understanding Simpson's rule with me. Thank you, Kevin!
