About Matthew

I am a 4th year undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, living in Minneapolis and studying mathematics, computer science, and creative writing.

I scored a 34 on the ACT and over 2000 on the SAT, and I am proficient in all of the basic sciences, mathematics, reading, and writing required for high school work, the ACT and SAT, as well as many introductory college courses. I also graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA, earning 41 college credits from AP courses.
I am also a friendly and normal person that enjoys teaching people, and I am good with advanced students looking to advance their understanding further as well as helping with very basic understanding of any subject on my list. I am able to move as quickly or slowly as is needed for my students to learn to the best of their abilities.

I received a 35 on the Math portion of the ACT, an 800 on the Math portion of the SAT, and completed Calculus 2 before finishing high school. I am also majoring in mathematics.

With over 100 hours of tutoring over the past year, I have really picked up a lot of experience. Helping parents attending online universities, helping college students prepare for important placement tests, and helping countless high school mathematics and standardized testing students to succeed. I have helped many people to succeed both on standardized tests and in their courses, and many of my students that I picked up while helping them to prepare for final exams chose to stay with me in to the next school year because of the substantial help I provide. I have substantial confidence in my ability to help any student succeed in any of these areas, and I appreciate every opportunity to help any student to learn and to ease the pressure being put on them by their coursework.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I received a 35 on the Math portion of the ACT, and have tutored several other people to improve their math scores.

Algebra 1

I received an A in Algebra 1 as a sophomore, and have since helped several friends to improve their own grades in algebra 1. I have a solid comprehension of the material.

Algebra 2

I received a good grade in advanced Algebra 2 as a freshmen in high school, and have since completed pre calculus and calculus 1-4.

Calculus

I received a 5 on the AP Calculus AB and BC exams 3 and 2 years ago respectively. I have since completed calculus 4 as part of the mathematics program here at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
