I am a current Junior at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul working on a Secondary Education major with a focus on English studies/ Communication Arts and Literature. I have experience volunteering in a variety of elementary schools to help students in their studies and work with the St. Paul Public Libraries as a general tutor.
I love tutoring because it allows me to work with students and help them feel a sense of accomplishment in their success. Additionally, as I help students build their confidence and their proficiency in the subject on which we work, the students help me learn how I can grow to be a better tutor and future teacher.
I have a passion for literature and the English language. As a current English major, I am exposed to all sorts of different subsections of the subject and continue to exercise my knowledge on these topics. I can apply my own working insight to help build major english skills.I have

I absolutely love looking at the array of studies in elementary school and feel well equipped to tackle the variety of topics in many different ways to fit different types of learners. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
