Over the four years I've spent studying physics at the University of Minnesota, I have been able to develop my communication skills and directly apply them to teaching the subject. I have done tutoring work in the past and want to continue to build my skill set of helping people understand technical ideas. I have found a passion not only for learning the subject material found in my physics and mathematics textbooks, but also for making it accessible to those of all levels of interest.
Apart from professional experience, it has also been necessary to work with my classmates in order to forward the group's understanding. I have been able to help those lagging behind through explanation and examples, and have asked the same of others when I find I need it. I believe communication is an incredibly important skill in science.
Since my introduction to the subject in my freshman year of high school, I have loved the subject of physics above all others. It has intrigued me with its systematic testing and analysis of the natural world, and I have turned this passion into a successful collegiate career. I am now a fourth-year physics student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, and want to help others understand the beauty of the world that I find through physics.
I have always been inclined to understand mathematics and its logic. I have kept this enthusiasm for math and have applied it to the past three years of collegiate physics work. The worlds of physics and mathematics are two that often complement one another, and it has been awe-inspiring to see the power mathematics gives to understand the physical world.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Over the three and a half years I've spent studying at the U of M, I have cultivated a deep understanding of the subject of algebra 1.
From introductory courses to upper-division directed study, I have been well versed in many areas of mathematics, including Algebra 2.
I have a thorough understanding of calculus and how it can be applied to various other areas of study.
I am a third-year physics student at the University of Minnesota. I have recently completed a course on Differential Equations, and continue to work with them heavily as they apply to advanced physics topics. I feel comfortable not only working with differential equations, but also in helping others understand them better.
I have spent three and a half years studying mathematics alongside my physics major at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I have completed my core calculus classes, which included a semester of studying Linear Algebra, as well as an upper-division class specifically focused on the subject. I believe I have a firm grasp on the material and understand why it is an important subject in the field of mathematics.
