I'm a product development engineer at 3M and I just received my PhD in physical organic chemistry, focusing on organic solar power, using laser spectroscopy! What this means for you is that I have had relevant experience in very high levels of math, physics and chemistry. I was a high school science teacher (earth and space science, chemistry, and physics), so I know how to make all of this material approachable and I understand how planning and practice make subjects much more approachable for any student!
I went to a top liberal arts college in Minnesota for my undergraduate degree, and have proven mastery in writing and language skills. I am an avid reader, and performed highly (>95 percentile) in every standardized test I have taken. I would love to share my insights with eager students.
If you are interested and enthusiastic, I would love to help you learn!
P.S. Tambien hablo Espanol! Hi!

Robert appears to have a lot of patience with my son. I have not been present for much of the tutoring sessions, yet I have heard enough to determine that my son responds well to Robert. My son has had several tutors, but never one that he has truly connected with and listens to. He is actually proud of his accomplishments. He is building confidence in my sons abilities.
Robert is the best precalculus, calculus and chemistry tutor my daughter has ever had. She has had over 50 tutors during the last 8 years. While she liked Robert very much - after a recent session with a DIFFERENT tutor in a different subject she has refused to work and cooperate with anyone (her school, me or any tutors) and has begun to skip classes again.
In summary Robert is an outstanding tutor (the best of many we have tried). He taught my daughter more in 2 hours than any other tutor we have used could have done in 5 hours. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor. It is highly unlikely a better tutor can be found. When she begins cooperating again we will be contacting him first. I have paid between $20-$110/hour for various tutors. Robert was better than any other tutor at any price. A+
Bobby is a great tutor! He sure knows a lot about Chemistry! He really tried hard that I (the student) had to come up with the answer, and he wasn't just doing the work for me. This was great because that way I was able to remember the next time I had to do a similar problem. He wants you to figure out answers on your own, but is more than willing to go over the problem afterwards and point out the mistakes I made, what I can do better next time, and important things that I needed to remember the next time I had to solve a similar problem. He is very patient, and he did not make me feel stupid when I didn't understand something. Instead he calmly tried to explain it to me, sometimes in multiple ways to make sure I understood. I highly recommend him as a tutor!
Robert S. has been wonderful so far!!! He is easy to contact and gets right back to me. My son really enjoys him and finds his way of explaining things to be very helpful. I would strongly recommend Robert S. for tutoring!!!
My daughter feels the tutor is excellent. She feels comfortable with the instructions he gave and feels clear from her doubts. She said she'll try to excercise more on the problems and hopes to return again when she gets stuck on her next project. Thank you for the great service.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I played basketball for four years at Carleton College and was the varsity captain my senior year. I have instructed at camps for 10 summers. I coached a high school girls' team to the Division I MN state championship and won. I coached my high school's boys' team to the island championship.
I have my PhD in physical organic chemistry and have been a TA and tutor for all kinds of labs and lectures. I have won two excellence awards as a graduate student TA for general organic chemistry and advanced physical organic chemistry. I have tutored for six years in many types of chemistry: general, analytical, organic, and quantum. I taught high school chemistry for one year as an ESL teacher in American Samoa as well, so I am able to teach to a broad range of learners.
I just completed my PhD in physical organic chemistry. I was a TA for elementary organic chemistry, organic chemistry I and II lab sections, and advanced physical organic chemistry. I have performed research as an undergraduate and graduate student utilizing organic chemistry while mentoring more junior students.
I have been a teacher and the leader of the Graduate and Professional Student Association at ASU, where I regularly spoke to large numbers of people. I am an ordained minister, and have performed two weddings. I also took a speaking course in college called The Speaking Voice. I spoke at my high school graduation.
I just earned a PhD in chemistry using my organizational skills and time management for the last 12 years. I have used myriad study techniques from memorization to core concept integration. I have mentored more junior students along the way, achieving skill at relaying my habits.
