Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have 5 years of experience teaching Algebra 1 to 9th graders at a private high school in the Twin Cities. Since I also taught Chemistry for most of my career, my Algebra skills are excellent. In addition, I earned a fellowship from my current school for excellence in teaching. I look forward to helping you learn Algebra.

Baseball

I have been actively involved in organized baseball and softball coaching for the last 20 years. I have coached at a variety of levels from little league baseball through high school Varsity softball. I love the game and really enjoy helping young people learn more of the intricacies of offensive, defensive, and team play.

Chemistry

I am licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach Chemistry, Physics, and Broad Area grades 5-9 science. I have 20 years of experience teaching Advanced Placement Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, and Algebra 1. In addition, I earned a fellowship from my current school for excellence in teaching and was chosen to be a grader for Advanced Placement Chemistry exams several times by The College Board.

Physical Science

I am licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach Chemistry, Physics, and Broad Area grades 5-9 science. I have 20 years of experience teaching Advanced Placement Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, and Algebra 1. In addition, I earned a fellowship from my current school for excellence in teaching and was chosen to be a grader for Advanced Placement Chemistry exams several times by The College Board. I have also taught physical science classes during the summers at the science Museum of Minnesota and at the California science center.

Prealgebra

I am licensed to teach by the state of Minnesota and I have 20 years of experience in classrooms in public schools, private schools, and summer programs. With 5 years of experience teaching high school Algebra 1, i understand what you need to know in order to be successful in Pre-Algebra. In addition, I earned a fellowship from my current school for excellence in teaching by my current school. I look forward to helping you achieve success in you Pre- Algebra class.
